Rev. Korankye Ankrah declares ‘NPP colours’ red and blue as colours for 2020

0

The Apostle General of the Royalhouse Chapel International, Reverend Sam Korankye Ankrah has advised his congregants to take the choice of clolours they will use in 2020 seriously in everything they do.
During the church’s 31st night service, the man of God revealed that in 2020 two colours – blue and red should prevail in everything his congregants do.
“For your major celebrations which are coming, weddings, wedding anniversaries, birthday, business anniversary celebrations, any celebration of any kind,” Rev. Ankrah instructed his church members to use these two colours, which coincidentally are also the colours of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“We are talking about all shades of blue and all shades of red,” he emphasized.
According to the preacher, for a favorable year and atmosphere, every member of the church was urged to make the colours (blue and red) the theme for everything in 2020.
Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah sup[ported his direction with biblical connotations. “When you look at the building of the tabernacle and the temple, just as God was interested in the number 20, God was also very particular about the colours of the temple. The colours of the temple and the colour for 2020 are blue and red,” the General Overseer stated.
He also added that, the secondary colour, purple, which a combination of the primary colours red and blue will be used by God as well.

I was denied SP position because of Asamoah Gyan – Maurice Ampaw

0

Renowned Ghanaian legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw has opined that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo did not appoint him as special Prosecutor because of Ghana’s football striker Asamoah Gyan.
Speaking in an interview with Ghanaian Journalist Attractive Mustapha, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw stated that he was not having issues with Asamoah Gyan until the unfortunate disappearance of popular hiplife artiste Castro after which the media called him for his views on the incident and he stated that those who took Castro to the venue where he disappeared should be invited for questioning.
He further lamented that the media twisted his statement which created enmity between him and Asamoah Gyan.
According to him, he kept on explaining himself but Asamoah Gyan and his family were not happy with his statement.
He continued that after a few months one lady called Sarah Kwabla also alleged that he was raped by Asamoah Gyan and upon seeing the evidence he decided to back the lady in court.
He added that all these happenings made Asamoah Gyan hate him and knowing Asamoah Gyan to have sponsored Akufo- Addo’s campaign and the fact that he is very close to the president, he has a stake in Akufo-Addo’s government.
“As it stands I wasn’t considered for the special prosecutor position because of Asamoah Gyan, though I wasn’t expecting that position, my name came up because Ghanaians know I’m a no-nonsense man and I can best do the work because am neutral”, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw stated.
He concluded by saying all who Asamoah Gyan’s mates and close associates have been appointed which also confirms that he has a strong stake in Akufo Addo’s government.

Ensure members abide by RTI – Kufour tells GJA

0

John Agyekum Kufour, former President of the Republic of Ghana, has tasked the executives of the Ghana Journalists Association to ensure that members of the Association abide by the Right to Information Law.
The Right to Information Bill (RTI) was passed into law after 20 years of its inception.
The RTI Bill which was first drafted in 1999, was reviewed in 2003, 2005 and 2007. The bill was, however, presented to Parliament in 2010.
The bill was brought back to the Sixth Parliament but could not be passed till the expiration of that Parliament on January 6, 2016.
The implementation of the law would require the establishment of information units in all public offices, the recruitment and training of information officers to man those units. The implementation of the law will also require the establishment of the RTI Commission and the completion of various administrative protocols before the start of the next fiscal year.
The RTI law is to provide for the operationalization of the constitutional right to information held by the public and some private institutions, subject to exemptions that are necessary and consistent with the protection of public interest in a democratic society.
Speaking at the launch of the 70th anniversary of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast in Accra, John Agyekum Kufour asked the association to ensure that its members do not take any portion of the RTI for granted to endanger and subvert the law.
“You must always remember that the abuse of the immense power of the media led to the Rwandan genocide through which almost a million people perished in the east African country in 1994,” he added.
He urged the GJA to monitor its members to ensure that the rights of individuals and members are not unduly violated. Kufour also encouraged that GJA to reprimand members who flout these laws
Commenting on misreporting and fake news, the former President urged Journalists to cultivate the habit of apologizing for misreporting, adding that apologizing for errors is the mark of professionalism and  credibility.

0

The Organising Secretary of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has assured the public that the issue of assaults on journalists is addressed properly.
Over the years, many journalists have been assaulted during their line of duty by some security personnel and politicians who believed they had power and could take the law into their own hands.
Despite the many attacks on journalists, most of the perpetrators had gone free and unpunished, except with some few instances where justice was served in favour of the journalists.
The recent assault on journalists was the attack on the Ghanaian Times Journalists by some police officers, who were eventually interdicted .
However, speaking at the launch of the 70th Anniversary of the GJA, Mr Dwumfour, who is also the Managing Director of Atinka Media Village said that in the coming years, the GJA will deepen democracy and press freedom in the country, while it ensures that journalists are secured in their line of duty.
“Over the years, we have heard and seen attacks on journalists; but in the coming years, we will not see that again. Going beyond 70 years, there are a lot of things to be done by the GJA, and we believe that the years ahead will be more fruitful,” he said.
The Theme for the launch of the 70th Anniversary was; “Democracy, freedom and independence of the media in Ghana: 70 years of GJA’s contribution”.
Meanwhile, Mr Dwumfour also acknowledged Former President John Agyekum Kufour, who was also present at the event for providing an enabling environment for the media to operate. This, he said paved the way for the establishment of private media in the country.
