Narrating the incident from preliminary investigations, ASP Ahianyo said one of two persons who was shot during skirmishes at the party’s offices at about 12.30 pm was confirmed dead on arrival at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The other person sustained gunshot wounds and is receiving treatment at the same hospital.

A team of high profile police personnel from the Regional Command led by the Deputy Regional Commander, DCOP Anim including the Regional Crime Officer, ACP Peter Baba, has already visited the scene and interacted with party officials to learn at first-hand what caused the incident.

At the time of GBC Radio Ghana’s visit, the party’s Regional office had been locked up with only a handful of the party functionaries and sympathisers around.
