Adentan: Buaben Asamoah caused our defeat in 2020 – Parker-France

In a candid interview with  Atinka TV’s reporter, our journalist, Ebenezer Madugu, following the launch of the NPP’s campaign team in Adentan, Daniel Parker Odarlai France, the Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the NPP, expressed strong sentiments regarding the party’s electoral strategy.

He notably singled out Lawyer Yaw Boaben Asamoah, the former Member of Parliament for Adentan, attributing the party’s 2020 defeat to Asamoah’s actions.

France minced no words, asserting that Asamoah’s defection from the NPP was a pivotal moment for the party.

“We believe the defection of the former MP is good news for us,” France declared, hinting at renewed confidence in reclaiming the Adentan parliamentary seat.

He went on to underscore his long-held concerns about Asamoah’s effectiveness as an MP, claiming he had forewarned Asamoah about potential electoral consequences due to his perceived disconnect from the constituency.

“When you are not seen by your constituents, you lose their trust. I told him myself that he would lose the election. Parker says, “He wasn’t making time for his constituents when they needed him.”

The interview with France provides a glimpse into the internal dynamics of the NPP as they prepare for the 2024 elections.

With the launch of their campaign team in Adentan, the party appears determined to rectify past mistakes and regain lost ground.

Parker France’s remarks, while critical, reflect a broader strategy aimed at realigning the party’s local presence and bolstering its electoral prospects.

Parker France also believes the current MP for the area, Ramadan, lacks the leadership skills and experience to continue as the Member of Parliament for Adentan; therefore, the NPP’s candidate, Akosua Manu Kozie, is the best option for Adentan.

He therefore tasked all members of the NPP in Adentan and the Greater Accra Region as a whole to work harder for more seats in the upcoming election.
