AFCON: GFA has let us down-Nana Fitz

A Football Administrator, Nana Fitz, says the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has let Ghanaians down with the performance of the Senior National Team, Black Stars at the ongoing African Cup of Nations.

His comments come after Ghana lost 3-2 to Comoros in the ongoing African Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars lost 1-0 to Morocco when they played their first match in the ongoing African Cup of Nations.

Although the team needed an outright win to stand firm in the competition, it had a 1-1 drawn game with Gabon.

Despite these, many Ghanaians were hopeful that Ghana could win its game against Comoros but unfortunately, the match ended 3-2 against Ghana.

In the end, Ghana secured only one point, while Comoros also had 3 points and therefore both teams could not qualify for the next stage in the ongoing tournament.

Meanwhile, Morocco and Gabon have made it through to the next stage of the competition.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie with Ekourba Gyasi Simpremu, Nana Fitz said Ghana has good players but the GFA influences the selection of the players and so they are not able to play up to expectations.

He said coach Milovan Rajevac was not good, questioning why the rush for the Serbian.

He again said People are not being truthful with the selection and changes of players, adding that people are greedy.

Nana Fitz also advised that Black Stars should put all tournaments on hold and work on the team and prepare them well before they can go back for tournaments.

He said the GFA should scout the local leagues and get people from the teams to play in the national team instead of bringing debutants all the time to play.

“Go out and scout, we have the people who can play,” he said.
