Agyarko family grateful to Akufo-Addo after dismissal (Audio)

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon and bother of embattled ex-Minister of Energy, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko, says the family is grateful to President Akufo -Addo for giving his sibling the opportunity to serve.

President Akufo Addo on Monday sacked Mr. Boakye Agyarko over the reviewed Ameri deal.

In the statement signed by the Communication Director at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, the Minister for Energy was asked to hand over his office to the Minister for Lands and Natural resources, John Peter Amewu.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Emmanuel Agyarko explained that his brother’s appointment was political and he believes he did his best at the Ministry.

He added that since Mr. Boakye Agyarko was sacked by the person who appointed him, the family can only be grateful to the president for giving their brother the opportunity to serve in the first place.

He, however,  maintained that Boakye Agyarko’s reviewed Ameri deal is still better than the one presented during the era of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“My family and myself, we are grateful to the President for even appointing him as Energy Minister and we will forever be grateful. My brother was not born to be the Energy Minister in perpetuity and the President has done no wrong in relieving him of his duty,” he added.
