Ahanta West MP cut sod for construction of male & female ward for Apowa Health Centre

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahanta West, Lawyer Ebenezer Kojo Kum has broke the ground for the construction of male and female wards at the Apowa Health Centre for the people of Apowa in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region.
The project when completed will help address the challenges the people are faced with in accessing quality healthcare delivery in the area.

At a short ceremony for the sod-cutting, the MP said, the project which is expected to be completed in six months, is being funded through the one million for each constituency allocations and it would cost over GHS 400,000.
He added that the construction of the wards was to expand the health centre to enable it serve the entire people of the area and also to put an end to a situation where both male and female are put in the same room on admission.
Lawyer Kojo Kum explained that the facility had not seen any facelift after his predecessor, Hon. Samuel Jonfiah had constructed a maternity ward around 2004.
He appealed to the Chief to make land space available to them for the construction of accommodation for the Physician Assistant and the other staff of the hospital for prompt services to patients who will be ushered into the facility for emergency cases, especially during night time.
The Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) of the Ahanta West Constituency, Henrieta Eyison, addressing the gathering appealed to the people to support the government and the MP for more projects to develop the municipality.
The Municipal Health Director of Ahanta West Municipal Assembly, Timothy Kwabena Ofori also described the project as a great relief to the healthcare delivery in the area.
