Airlines to pay US$3,500 per passenger for transporting covid-19 patients to Accra

Managers of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), have stated that airlines that board passengers without PCR test result or transport and disembark passengers with positive PCR test into Accra will be fined US$3,500 per passenger.

The KIA also said non-Ghanaian passengers who test positive may be refused entry and returned to their country of origin at the cost of the airline, whiles Ghanaian passengers will undergo a 14-day quarantine at their own cost.

However, effective from Monday, November 16, 2020, the KIA has urged passengers arriving in Ghana to pay the $150 for the PCR test online at  https://myfrontierhealthcare.com/Home/Ghana.

The above forms part of revised protocols for passengers travelling to Ghana.

So far, 11, 56,123 passengers have been tested at the KIA, out of which 190 tested positive.
