Akufo Addo determined to make Accra cleanest city

President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo remains determined in making Accra the cleanest city in Africa by the end of his first term.

In the 2019 State of the Nation's Address (SONA) 2019, he remarked that government is set to launch a sanitation brigade that will see to the orderliness of keeping the city clean.

"We will intensify our efforts in making Accra the cleanest city in Africa," he said.

Aside that, he stated that government has prepared a plastic management policy under which more than 82 per cent of Ghana's plastic waste will be recycled.

The recycling of plastic waste will however, prevent plastic bags from running up and down on the streets of Accra while it prevents those that lands in drains from choking it.

Although the recycling plant is to help address the issue of sanitation, President Akufo-Addo pondered on the fact that it will also help create directly over 23,000 jobs for the youth.
