Alan quits NPP, goes independent

Downhearted Presidential Hopeful of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has announced his resignation from the party with immediate effect.

While announcing his exit, he made it known that he is set to contest as an independent candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen made these known at a briefing in Accra on Monday, September 25,2023.

About three weeks ago, the former Trade Minister withdrew from the party’s flagbearership race.

This was after he placed third in the party’s Super Delegates’ Conference.

While announcing his withdrawal from the NPP’s flagbearership race, he made some concerns that there were electoral irregularities, unfair treatment and bias during the super delegates’ conference.

At the briefing, he said despite his efforts and contributions to the party since its inception, the party has not appreciated his efforts, therefore the need to exit, adding that his existence may cause confusion in the party.

Meanwhile, he announced that he is establishing a new movement with the slogan, “Ghana will rise again”.
