Amoako Tuffour blasts Kyei Mensah Bonsu for making "useless" comments

Dr. Amoako Tuffour, a founding father  of New Patriotic Party (NPP), has responded to what he has described as “useless” comments made by Majority Leader and incumbent Member of Parliament for Suame constituency, Osei-Kyei Mensah Bonsu.
Osei Kyei Mensah has  described Dr. Amoako Tuffour as an elderly person who has no relevance in the party and only surfaces when there is an impending elections.
“I’m told one other person, one Dr. Amoako Tuffour has joined but that he is lost. He doesn’t have any relevance in the party… whenever there is an election he pretends he is in control of the vision of Ashanti Region. What does he do for the party? What does he do for the government? Its only when elections are due whether Parliamentary, Presidential, MMDCE then he goes there skirmishing around as if he holds the key…What is his relevance to this Party,” he added.
Reacting to the comments on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Ekourba Gyasi, Dr. Amoako Tuffour described the comments by Osei-Kyei Mensah Bonsu as a useless statement which should not be given any attention.
According to Dr. Amoako Tuffour, The Member of Parliament for Suame Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is engrossed with his duties in Parliament and as such not abreast with politics on the ground with respect to the Ashanti Region.
“When we started the party, he was still a student beneath my feet who was using my car to organize students of KNUST for the party. If I was relevant to him then but no longer relevant, then it means he does  not care about what happens to anybody. I have been a National Council Member for uncountable years in the party,” he said.
He noted that if a national council member for the party is not relevant then Osei Kyei Mensah can redefine who a relevant member of a party is.
Osei Kyei Mensah also described Lawyer George Darko, a prospective aspirant in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) impending primaries as an empty “barrel” who wants to seek relevance for himself by contesting him.
“He contested me the other time and he pulled 56 votes. I don’t know why he is still making noise, but as they say empty barrels make the most noise. Let him continue to make noise, I am concentrating on what I need to do for the party in Parliament and my constituency”, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu Opined.
Also reacting to Osei Kyei Mensah’s comment, Lawyer George Darko asked the Majority leader in Parliament to stop worrying about contesting the primaries with irrelevant people and concentrate on recapturing power in Suame come 2020.
“I know who I am and I know what I am made of, I don’t think that should be the focus of the NPP especially in an election year. I am not an empty barrel seeking  relevance. If he believes I am irrelevant, he shouldn’t worry his head. He should relax since he is optimistic he will win the elections.”
