New Western Regional Police Commander calls for vigilant society

The new Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Felix Fosu-Agyeman has entreated the general public to be alert, watchful and vigilant to avoid victimization from miscreants in society.
He said miscreants often study and monitor the behaviour and social lives of individuals before attacking them, stating that security consciousness must be something that every individual should uphold.
Mr. Fosu-Agyeman said this during an engagement with the media at the Police Headquarters in Sekondi yesterday.
He said security is a shared responsibility on the part of the police and the public.
He urged the public to voluntarily devout credible information to the police for follow-ups without hesitating, and advised them not to inform anybody on their engagement with the police.
On kidnapping, the Commander cautioned the general public to be modest in the display of wealth, inform close relatives of their whereabouts as well as avoiding desserted places.
He advised that parents should have a good relationship with their children and endeavour to resolve any issue that often prompt the children to leave home without notice.
“Most of the missing cases reported is as a result of some misunderstanding between parents and children that led to children leaving home”, he stressed.
The Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Felix Fosu-Agyeman told the public to raise the level of their personal security mentally and never assume that because of the social status nobody can victimize them.
He urged the public to treat everybody as a suspect no matter how well that person dresses.
