Some angry delegates at the Okaikoi South are calling on National and Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to place an injunction on the constituency election held on Thursday at the Prince of Peace polling station over the deletion of their names.

There was chaos at the Prince of Peace polling station on Thursday morning as delegates of Okaikoi South constituency threatened to stop the constituency elections.

This was when they realised that their names had been taken off the album being used for the election.

A report from a Delegate at Okaikoi South, Rose Budu indicated that 413 names, out of 820 names had been taken off the album.

According to her, they chased the album for sometime but it was not made available to them till the night before the election that they saw it and realized their names were not in the album.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning Show, Ghana Nie with Ekourba Gyasi, Rose Budu explained that they had already gone through with the polling station elections and now, they were going to do the constituency elections when they noticed their names had been taken off the album at the constituency level.

Due to this, most of them said they will fight until their names are found back in the album .

Rose Budu alleged that the name of a 16-year-old who does not have a card and has never voted had his name in the register.

“I have done constituency work for 20 years. Now my name has been taken off and we will not understand it today or tomorrow,” she said.

She said when they realised their names had been taken off the album, they called Lawyer Gary Nimako to take the matter up and ensure that an injunction is put on the election until the matter is settled as it should.

Meanwhile, she called on the party executives to ensure that the right thing is done before matters escalate.
