Arrest of NDC Suame Organiser: Ghanaians are hypocrites -Ade Coker fires

Mr. Joseph Ade Coker, former Greater Accra Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called some Ghanaians hypocrites for “jubilating” over the arrest of young NDC “warmonger” Razak Koampa Avoliya.

Although he does not support the comments made by the young man, Ade Coker was of the belief that he would not have been arrested if he was a “big man,” pointing out that some ‘big men’ did the same or worse but went scot-free.

The NDC Youth Organiser for Suame, Razak Koampa Avoliya, was arrested by the Suntreso Police for offensive conduct.

He was captured in a viral video charging NDC members in Suame to violently attack any New Patriotic Party (NPP) member who would misbehave during the 2024 polls.

Koampa Avoliya, who instigated NDC party members on Sunday, surrendered himself to the police yesterday to help assist in investigations.

The suspect would be sent to court today on provisional charge of ‘offensive conduct’.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie, with Ama Gyenfa Ofosu Darkwa, Mr. Ade Coker said, “It is not today that people started talking about hate speech. Some people endorsed hate speeches, and it brought them to government, some insulted people, some threatened people, including some people who decided to help Ghana; we sat down and said nothing. I remember at some point, someone who wanted to be a flagbearer for the NPP said sad things. When he was arrested, some people went to do demonstrations at the police headquarters to free him. Kennedy Agyapong said when we see Ga’s, we should kill them, and when we see Ewes, we should kill them in the same Ashanti Region. Now he wants to be president. “They said he had no low-cost when he was sent to court, so this NDC guy also has no low-cost.”

He again said, “On social media, people have said the worst things, so I am not surprised; I am not saying they should continue to do that; you created a matter, and a lot of people have queued for it.” When we did the elections, look at the people who were killed at Techiman. Have they arrested those who did it? If we say we are going to go on hypocritical terms, Ghana will not prosper; Ghanaians are hypocrites. “Let us call a spade a spade and change the mindset of this country.”

Mr. Ade Coker continued, “I do not condone what my fellow NDC man said, but I do not blame him, because we are too hypocritical in this country.” It is sad, and we are not being honest with ourselves. “If he were a “big man,” no one would arrest him, but because he is a small fly, that is why he has been arrested.”
