Atinka TV premieres much-awaited #UntoldGoat documentary at 4:30pm today

Ghanaians, like many other Africans have often touted the attributes of some of the greatest footballers of all time across continents. The comparison between Maradona and World Pele is always rekindled every World Cup year.

In recent times, supporters of Portuguese and Juventus Star, Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina and Barcelona star, Lionel Messi would want to always cease the least opportunity to argue why each of them is the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T) in football and ought to be respected.

The continuous touting of the achievements of these European Stars can easily cause the contemporary Ghanaian football star to believe that football had always been played by the whites, hence their ability to produce GOATs. What many do not know is that Ghana, like other countries, was once the home of several GOATs who helped engrave the country’s name on the sporting map of this world.

The unprecedented skills they exhibited on the pitch were enough to draw thousands to fill stadia and lead Ghana to win four African Cup of Nations trophies.

One of these GOATS is this young boy who against all odds rose to become one of the greatest footballers in Ghana and beyond. Death, according to legendary sports commentator, Joe Lartey, robbed this talented Ghanaian of the most prestigious individual award in world football, the Ballon D’Or.
At 4:30 pm, today, Monday, 6th May, 2019, Atinka TV, will air a documentary produced by the Head of Sports, Saddick Adams, Sports Obama, which chronicles the private and football life of this legendary star from Ghana whose brightness cut across continents.
Commenting on the documentary, award winning sports Journalist, Saddick Adams stated that the film was inspired by the lack of documentaries on the history of Ghana’s past football heroes.
“I’ve spent the last five months traveling over 2,500 kilometers with my decrepit camera, collecting pieces of information, memorabilia and anecdotes of this man whose name is still popular on the lips of millions of Ghanaian soccer fans and yet, very little known of him. Very little has been seen of him, very little to read of him. Out of the over 30 million people in Ghana today, less than a hundred of them I think, were privileged to have seen him play and most of them are in a state of health that makes it difficult for them to remember any memories of him”, he said.
The Award winning Sports Journalist sums up the life of this GOAT in the following words:
“UNTOLD G.O.A.T is a story of striking football moments, golden memories, bitterness, flamboyance, loyalty and tragedy that will honour and mark a landmark anniversary of this legendary son of the land. It is very unfortunate that not much data and history has been documented of our sporting heroes and this will be the first of many films to be produced to honour these heroes and also as reference point for the current generation.”
The much awaited documentary will be aired on all Atinka Media Village’s platforms – Atinka TV, Atinka FM and all its social media handles at 4:00pm today.
