Atsu’s brother replies Agradaa and prophet on hate comments

A senior brother to fallen Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu, Mr. Tswasam, says the family has heard all the hateful comments about Atsu from a priestess turned evangelist, Patricia Asiedua (Agradaa), and some prophets, but has decided not to say anything to them because they want to accord the elderly the needed respect.

After Atsu’s death, Agradaa said in one of her videos at church that Atsu wouldn’t have died if he knew God.

She insinuated that Atsu rushed into life and went for voodoo to make it in life as soon as possible, and so he couldn’t have been saved by God.

A prophet also claimed Atsu wouldn’t have died if he had donated to the church or given his tithe to the church instead of giving to the needy and poor on the streets.

Reacting to this in an interview with a local online TV , Dan Kweku Yeboah TV, Mr. Tswasam said, “I have heard what some people are saying; I have heard what Mama Pat said, but she is an elderly woman; she is a mother; if I want to reply to her, it does not show respect, because the bible teaches us to respect the elderly; with the things she said, she does not know us; she does not know our family.”

He continued, “Atsu was a young boy when he traveled; he was 14 years old when he trained in Portugal, and he grew up there and met his wife.” “Even when he comes here, he does not engage in womanizing stuff, and so how does he know voodoo?” Someone who was raised like a white man, how does he know that? But when there is an issue, everyone says something; that is their opinion, but we will not comment; it is God who knows the hearts of people and what is in their heads.

When asked why Atsu’s wife is not in Ghana since he was brought here, he said the family has been in touch with the woman constantly, revealing that they asked the woman to wait and come when the funeral is due.

Meanwhile, he said Atsu’s children have English names, but the family will rename them so that one day, when they are out there, everyone will know their roots.
