Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on Ghanaians to vote for the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
Ahiagbah emphasizes that Dr. Bawumia’s policies, as outlined in the NPP’s manifesto, are crucial for improving the working conditions of healthcare professionals in Ghana.
“Bawumia understands that our healthcare professionals deserve a leader who values their contributions to national development. Voting for Bawumia means voting for a stronger healthcare system and the people who sustain it,” Ahiagbah stated on X.
Reflecting on his personal experience after a recent accident that left him hospitalized at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Ahiagbah praised the dedication and sacrifices of healthcare workers who provide care under challenging conditions.
He stressed the importance of electing a president who will prioritize the needs of these professionals by improving their working environment, investing in their professional growth, and addressing the ongoing issue of health worker migration from Ghana.
“Health is our most valuable asset; without it, everything else is secondary. We need a leader who will ensure that those who care for our health are themselves well cared for,” Ahiagbah added.
Ahiagbah reaffirmed that Dr. Bawumia is the choice of healthcare workers and the best candidate for a healthier Ghana.
