Cape Coast: Man who assaulted sex worker arrested

The Central Regional Police Command has arrested a 42-year-old driver, Godwin Bayor alias Yaw for allegedly assaulting a sex worker in Cape Coast.

Godwin Bayor on Sunday 6th March 2022 reportedly assaulted a lady in the night somewhere in Cape Coast.

The suspect is a driver of a government vehicle.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, the lady who was assaulted was seen holding tightly on to the man’s shirt.

In the video, the alleged sex worker claimed the man had refused to pay for her services after picking her up at Hutchland.

In a statement, the Central Regional Police Command said the arrest of Godwin Bayor follows a Police investigation into the viral audio-visual tape intercepted in which a man was captured assaulting a lady in the night.

“The Central Regional Police Command has arrested a 42-year-old driver, Godwin Bayor alias Yaw for allegedly assaulting a woman on March 6, 2022, at Cape Coast,” the police said in a statement on Sunday, March 13.

“His arrest follows a Police investigation into a viral audio-visual tape intercepted in which a man was captured assaulting a lady in the night.

“The victim subsequently lodged a complaint of assault at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), Cape Coast, today Sunday, March 13, 2022,” the Police statement said.
