The Chief Executive officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Ms. Asare Afua Asabea, has been appointed to the prestigious board of the International Trade centre (ITC) Trade and Investment Support Institution (TISI) Advisory Board.
The ITC TISI Advisory Board is a voluntary independent body established to support the International Trade Centre (ITC) to improve the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of the Trade and Investment Support institution (TISI) strengthening program and its related activities.
As a member of the ITC TISI board, Ms. Asare Afua Asabea, is expected to use her rich experience as CEO of the Ghana Export Promotion Council, to provide guidance and strategic orientation in the area of strengthening Trade and investment Support Institutions (TISIs) according to a statement signed by Arancha Gonzales, Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC).
The statement further complimented Ms. Afua Asabea for her commitment and contribution to the ITC and is therefore expected to support Trade and Investment Promotion organizations around the world to deliver trade impact for good with her new appointment.
The CEO of GEPA’s appointment to the ITC TISI advisory Board took effect from 24 October 2018 and will end on 2020 during the 13th Trade Promotion Organization Network World Conference and Awards.
Ms. Asabea is elated on her new appointment and is optimistic of making a difference on the board of the ITC TISI.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to serve on such a body. I look forward to making my experience available while I leverage others for the benefit of Ghana’s trade and Investment drive”. She affirmed.
About Afua Asare Asabea
Until her appointment as CEO of GEPA,Ms. Asabea was the special advisor to the Minister of Business Development.
Afua Asare Asabea is a lifelong positive leadership and strategy enthusiast with a background in Integrated Communications.
She has a 25-year management experience, working in a variety of corporate environment as a staff and as a consultant.
She has an MA in Positive leadership and strategy from IE University in Madrid, Bachelor of Laws(LLB) from KNUST, Ghana, Post- Graduate Diploma in Organizational Development from the University of Cape-Coast.
She has Authored various industry and business articles, on coaching, leadership development, and on the diversity of thought and inclusion.
Asabea is the founder and the lead consultant at AYA &Company until march 2017 and also adjunct Lecturer of leadership, entrepreneurship, strategic supply chain management and mass communication at the Ghana Institute of management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
In the past, she worked as General Manager and Head of Communications, Ghana telecom, Public Relations and Training Departments of Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority.
