Coronavirus: Disinfection exercise underway in Accra (photos)  

 
Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development in collaboration with Zoomlion today commenced a nationwide disinfection exercise at  the various market centres in Accra.
The exercise forms part of  government’s measures to fight the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

The exercise, which was supposed to begin early in the morning started around 10am due to some delay in the distribution of chemicals.
Some of the market centers which were disinfected in the early hours of Monday includes Mallam Attah Market, Nima market, Tiptoe lane and Alajo market.
At the Mallam Atta market in the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Alhaji Mohammed Quaye addressing the media apologized for the late start of the exercise.

He assured  market women that the exercise would be completed today to enable markets open for use tomorrow.
The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development on Friday, 20th March, 2020 launched a nationwide disinfection exercise in Accra to fight the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Over 137 markets are set to be disinfected.
