The Eastern Region has recorded 20 more positive cases of the pandemic coronavirus (COVID-19).
Initially, the Region recorded only one case but within a short time, the number of cases have jumped to 21, adding up to a total number of 378 recorded by the country as stated by the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his sixth address to the country on the pandemic.
The 20 new cases were recorded after 244 persons who were quarantined at the Afcon Construction Company in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality where an Indian expatriate working on the Akosombo to Tema Railway project tested positive for coronavirus last month.
Out of the 20 new cases, it is reported that 19 had contact with the Indian expatriate while one is yet to be verified.
Meanwhile, more results are expected from the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.
