Ghana has recorded two more cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), making the number of cases recorded in the country nine (9).
The ninth case was announced by the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at a breakfast prayer meeting held at the Jubilee House with Christian Religious Leaders in the country.
Speaking at the prayer meeting, President Akufo-Addo said, “We also learned, sadly on Wednesday, that three Ghanaians living abroad had lost their lives as a result. With nine confirmed cases of infections, we might as well count ourselves lucky as one of the countries least hit by the coronavirus,” he said.
According to reports, confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide pass 200,000, whiles more than 8,000 people have died.
However, in Ghana, no deaths have been recorded out of the coronavirus outbreak.
At the Meeting, the President called on the men of God to intercede for the nation against coronavirus.
Meanwhile, before the President announced the ninth case at the meeting, the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah took to his social media account to break the news to Ghanaians.
“Unfortunately we have confirmed two more cases overnight. Ghana’s case count is now 9. Health services are still managing all suspected and confirmed cases well,” he tweeted.
