African country, Niger, has reported its first Coronavirus case.
The patient, a 36-year-old Nigerian, who works for a transport company, tested positive after returning from a trip which plied Lome, Accra, Abidjan and Ouagadougou.
Niger government has announced that the patient is in stable condition to contain the virus.
President Issoufou Mahamadou has issued a statement suspending worships at mosques and churches to prevent the spread of the virus.
“I urge everyone to keep calm and to respect preventative measures put in place. God willing, together we will overcome this ordeal,” he tweeted.
