Covid-19: Contact tracing ongoing for infected COCOBOD staff

Manager at the Office of the CEO of COCOBOD, Fiifi Boafo, has revealed that contact tracing is still ongoing for the family and close relations of staff who tested positive for coronavirus.
Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) announced the closure of its head office in Accra effective Wednesday, July 8, to Friday, July 10, for a disinfection  exercise.
The exercise was necessitated after some staff COCOBOD tested positive for Covid-19 after a mass testing exercise by the company.
“It has become necessary due to the mass testing the organization is currently undertaking which has resulted in some staff members testing positive for COVID-19. All necessary arrangements have been made for the affected staff to receive the necessary medical attention and contact tracing is currently ongoing to enforce quarantine and isolation measures,” a statement from COCOBOD said.
In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka FM’s AM Drive, Fiifi Boafo said the head office has been closed for a disinfection  exercise .
Asked what would happen to staff who tested positive when the offices are reopened after Friday July 10 2020, Fiifi Boafo said persons who tested positive for the virus will still be in isolation until they are totally cleared.
“We did mass testing and the results revealed that some of our staff were infected. They have been isolated hence the ongoing fumigation exercise in the office. The fumigation will end on Friday. Contact tracing is currently ongoing for both families and close relations of persons who tested positive,” he added.
