COVID-19: Education Minister hospitalised over suspected case

The Minister for Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has made it known that he has been detained at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), in Accra over a suspected COVID-19 case.
On Tuesday, 16th June 2020, the Minister underwent various tests, including COVID-l9, after feeling unwell for a couple of days.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Education, He tested negative for the virus, informing his decision to travel to his constituency for his acclamation on Saturday 20th June 2020.
However, following his return to Accra, the Education Minister still felt unwell and decided to check himself in for further checks, including a second test for COVlD-l9.
Although the results are not out, he has been detained at the UGMC as a precautionary measure for further observation, due to his condition.
