Ghana has recorded a total of 147 new cases of coronavirus bringing the total number of active cases to 947.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 48,788 with 47,521recoveries. The death toll is pegged at 320.
This surge comes after the President for the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr. Frank Ankobea, mentioned that the country is likely to experience a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
” When notice that your friend’s beard is on fire, what do you do? You take precautionary measures to prevent yours from burning. GMA had a joint conference with the NCCE and we noticed that Ghanaians have abandoned the safety protocols citing a decrease in active cases as reasons. We had 2 cases in March but look at us now. Our politicians are also not helping matters. What happens when we all down after politics”, Ghana Medical Association (GMA) president told Ekourba Gyasi last Tuesday.
