COVID-19: Send recommendations to Management Committee-Charles Bissue to Groups

Presidential Staffer, Charles Onua Wontor Bissue has advised all groups who have recommendations to support government in the fight against coronavirus (COVID-19) to present them to the Public Health Emergency Management Committee.

He observed that some groups were alleging that their recommendations to help fight against covid-19 had been rejected by the NPP Government.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s Flagship Morning Show, Ghana Nie, Charles Bissue said,”I do not believe that anyone or group has come to contribute and has been turned away. When the coronavirus hit Ghana, the President formed a management team to fight. So, what stops you from going to that committee to contribute?”
Debunking rumours that some groups were not heard when they called on the government concerning the fight, he said,”That person needs to come and show that I went and I wasn’t heard. The Committee is working in collaboration with the World Health Organization and they advise the President. If you are not against the government you will not sit somewhere and say you have formed a group. That will be irresponsible!.”
He added that,”Everybody has to be sensitive about this issue, so if you are saying you have created a group and no one is calling you then you are being insensitive.”

In his quest to assist government of Ghana in the fight of coronavirus, the Flagbearer for National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama and the NDC set up a Covid-19 technical team.
“I have already announced that the NDC which I lead is committed to assisting the government in the fight against Covid-19 by availing all the technical and logistical resources at our disposal. As evidence of our seriousness in that respect, we have assembled a technical team to guide our efforts and to lead the NDC’s response to the evolving situation. This team is an assembly of experts from many fields that will be required to implement a national action plan on Covid-19.
The NDC, through its Minority Leader Haruna Idrissu presented to the Speaker of Parliament a proposal on how to curb the issue.
However, their proposal is yet to be considered.
