Cynthia Morrison donates food items to elderly Muslims in Agona West

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West in the Central Region, Mrs Cynthia Mamle Morrison, has donated 300 bags (25kg) and 1,500 (5kg) of rice, 75 cartons of cooking oil, 25 cartons of tomato paste, 13 cartons of Lipton tea, 300 bags of 10kg Sugar and Nose Mask to some elderly Muslims of the constituency.
This benevolence gesture was powered by Qatar Charity, upon the request by the Member of Parliament to support the vulnerable who needs help during the ongoing fasting and prayers (Holy Month of Ramadan).
Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison recounted, on the Moslem calendar, the month of Ramadan is to show love, hence the donation to support the needy and the vulnerable in society. She advised all Muslims to take precautionary measures as “We are living in unprecedented times, and it is important that we all take the necessary precautions for the collective good and it’s unfortunate that this year’s Ramadan has coincided with its the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic”.
Receiving the items on behalf of the aged, Mallam Abdulai Mohammed expressed gratitude to the MP for the Kind Gesture in the holy month of Ramadan and reiterated that fasting during Ramadan teaches discipline and generosity, deepening feelings of mercy and empathy for those who are hungry and poor and the items would be of great benefit to them as they perform their religions expectations.
“If you go to bed and your neighbor is hungry, you have not fulfilled your obligation as a Muslim,” Mallam Abdulai said.” Thank You.
