Security officials have been dispatched to all the 16 Regions ahead of the December 7 general elections.
A team of security officials, which have been dispatched include persons from the Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Prisons Service, the Ghana National Fire Service and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Ghana Ambulance Service.
The team has been deployed to the various regions to ensure security at the various polling stations on December 7th.
Speaking at a short ceremony at the independence square to dispatch the team to their various regions, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong Boanuh, called on the security teams to ensure professionalism in the performance of their duty come December 7th.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Prisons Service, the Ghana National Fire Service and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) as well as other agencies including the Ghana Ambulance Service are expected to get to their various posts before election day.
