Dep Sports Minister commends philanthropic 16-year-old boy

The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Curtis Perry Okudzeto, has commended the 16-year-old boy, who is also the Founder of Limitless Ghana Foundation, Arnav Nambiar for his philanthropic works.

He made the commendations when the boy donated bags of rice and cartons of Milo to the National Paralympic Committee a day after making similar presentations to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Accra to support them amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“I appreciate the work of Limitless. I believe that if we have a few more young people take an in interest in sports and to be able to mobilise the resources to be able to support our athletes especially at this point in time when the world is in crisis, it will help,”Perry Okudzeto said.
The Deputy Sports Minister continued that,”As we all know, sporting activities across the world, not just in Ghana, the Olympics that we would have attended in Tokyo this year has been pushed to 2021. It tells you that as we go along in the course of the year, as government continues to implement policies in terms of managing COVID-19, we have to get to a point where we are able to come up with an arrangement for our athletes, both para athletes and other athletes to be able to at least start training again, put themselves in shape and make sure that they are prepared whether we have competitions this year of or not.”
Perry Okudzeto added that,”Because in other for our athletes to be able to go for competitions next year, they would have to be in shape, therefore it is very good that we have organisations like Limitless taking it upon themselves and reaching out to the Paralympic Committee.”
He stated that Government continues to package a lot of initiatives assuring that sports is not left out.
“As I speak, government is in talks in order for us to see how we can assist the various federations in different regards in terms of making sure we keep our athletes busy, in making sure that we can keep our athletes in shape towards the competitions that will come after the pandemic. And I am hoping that in coming days the Ministry will announce whatever initiative that we have in terms of support for the Paralympic committee, the Ghana Football Association and the Ghana Olympic Committee.

About Limitless:

Limitless Ghana Foundation is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) whose main objective is to create awareness about people living with disabilities in Ghana and supporting their needs by raising funds through any means possible.
This organization was established by Nambiar in 2018 after he met with a road accident which left him in a wheelchair and crutches for a few weeks.
The project is called “Limitless” because it truly represents the spirit of the people with impairments.
Over the course of two years Arnav has been meeting various heads of organizations to advocate for the communities who need the most support.
The National Paralympic Committee, appointed Arnav as the Ambassador of the Ghana Paralympic team for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
