Do not push me to lockdown the country again- Prez to public

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has cautioned persons who have disregarded the COVID-19 safety protocols to adhere to them in order to stop the spread of the virus.

Addressing the nation, he said although government does not want the country to go back to the days of lockdown due to its consequences on the economy, he will be pushed to impose the restrictions again should the number of active cases go up and when it becomes necessary to do so.

Giving his 22nd update on steps taken against the virus, Akufo-Addo urged the public to be responsible and adhere strictly to the protocols so that we can all have our normal activities.

Speaking on the reopening of schools, he said government has put in place measures to ensure the safety of students, teachers and non teaching staff.

He reiterated that government had disinfected most of the schools, adding that it will provide face masks, hand sanitizers, veronica buckets, tissues to all the schools.

He also urged the students to ensure they observe the safety protocols so that the virus does not spread.
