Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe Demands NPP Leadership Resignation Over Party’s Decline

Veteran politician and founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has strongly criticized the party’s leadership, calling for their immediate resignation following their failure to restructure after the 2024 elections.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe defended Adwoa Safo’s recent public statements, emphasizing that the NPP was founded on democratic principles, including freedom of speech.

“Every member has the right to express their views, and what Adwoa Safo did was not wrong at all. Anyone who truly loves the party should be concerned about what happened in the last election and speak up.”

In an interview with Joy Prime, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe accused the current executives of lacking the moral authority to lead the party’s restructuring efforts.

“If I were in their shoes, I would have resigned by now. We need leaders who genuinely care about the party, not those who joined for personal interest and wealth accumulation.”

He further challenged the credibility of the committee set up to review the party’s election defeat, arguing that its creators were part of the problem.

“The current executives have no right to form any committee. They know they were elected through bribery, something that has never happened in the party before.”

When asked whether Adwoa Safo should appear before the party’s Disciplinary Committee, he dismissed its authority entirely.

“She can either ignore them or meet them if she wishes, but if it were me, I would never do that. They have no moral right to question anyone.”

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe insisted that the only way forward for the NPP is a complete leadership overhaul.

“The leadership must step aside. We need an interim management committee to set the party back on track. Until we go back to the grassroots and identify those who genuinely love the party, we should forget about winning any future elections.”
