Speaking on Atinka TV‘s morning show, Ghana Nie with Ekourba Gyasi Simpremu, Dr Kenneth Ashigbe said because over 360 entities were charging on their platforms without a common platform, some transactions, especially those from one network to the other were wrongly charged.
He also pointed that some deductions were also lower than the required deductions, saying that the telcos and government will cater for that.
Dr Kenneth Ashigbe said until a common platform is created for the deductions, there would be reversals and refunds which has already started.
He also assured that most of the challenges have been resolved, adding that the institution will ensure that everyone whose money was deducted wrongly receive their refunds.
He noticed that some vendors were charging for cash in, while others were deducting the 1.5 per cent E-levy charge aside their usual charges.
Meanwhile, he urged the public not to pay the E-Levy charge when doing cash in.
He also urged vendors not to charge the 1.5 per cent E-levy aside their usual charges, educating the public that a system has been put in place to take the charges and not by the vendors.
Upon noticing some of the challenges the public is facing in sending and receiving money after the E-levy, he underscored the need to educate the public so that they do not fall prey to scammers.
