EC exposes Dumelo over ‘missing’ indelible ink

The Electoral Commission (EC) has responded to reports that there was no indelible ink at GIMPA polling station 1 in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in the morning.

Earlier reports suggested that there was a brief misunderstanding at the GIMPA polling Station 1 in Ayawaso West Wuogon over the absence of indelible ink.

According to Atinka News’ sources at the GIMPA polling station 1 in the Ayawaso West Wagon constituency, the absence of the indelible ink infuriated the the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo who demanded a halt of the voting process at the Station.

“I am disappointed in the process. We do not have indelible ink here, and they are allowing the process to still continue which is wrong. There should be indelible ink. I suggest that they stop the whole process and let them get the ink before they continue. The indelible ink is the surest way to know that one has voted or not. Are people doing over voting or what?”, framed John Dumelo said.

Reacting to the issue, the Electoral Commission (EC) in a post debunked the claim adding that voting is currently underway  with all required processes being followed.

“The attention of the EC has been drawn to a story carried by the media, that there is no indelible ink at the GIMPA polling station 1. The EC will like to debunk this claim. Voting is currently underway in this polling station with all required processes being followed,” the EC said in a tweet.

John Dumelo is in keen competition with the New Patriotic Party’ (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate, Lydia Alhassan at the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
