Ghanaian Rapper Medikal, born Samuel Adu Frimpong, has asked persons criticising the President of the Republic of Ghana on his silence about the End Sars protest in Nigeria to give the first gentleman a break.
End Special Anti-Robbery Squad (End SARS) or #EndSARS is a decentralized social movement against police brutality in Nigeria.
The protesters are calling for an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a controversial unit of the Nigerian Police Force with a long record of abuses.
The protesters have shared both stories and video evidence of how members of SARS engaged in kidnapping, murder, theft, rape, torture, unlawful arrests, humiliation, unlawful detention, extrajudicial killings, and extortion in Nigeria
Critics have called out the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo , who happens to be the Chairman for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) for failing to talk about the #EndSARS protest in Nigeria.
Reacting to the issue in a tweet, Ghanian Rapper Medikal said the silence of President Akufo Addo does not mean that he is doing nothing behind closed doors.
“The Ghanaian President ein silence on social media no dey mean say he is doing nothing behind closed doors. May be he is, who knows? How many times wonna President address the nation during the COVID/ Lockdown period in Ghana? Severally ! don’t blame Nana for Buhari’s incompetence,” Medikal said in a tweet.
