Fix deplorable roads in the country – Tema Youth Group Citizen Check to Gov't

A Tema Based Youth Advocacy group Citizen Check, has called on govt to pay attention to the deplorable roads in Ghana, which are the cause of surge in road accidents.
Their calls comes in the wake of a recent motor accident on the Kete-krachi road which claimed six persons including an executive member of the Group.
Statistics available from the MTTD shows a surge in road accidents since the beginning of this year, with over 120 persons losing their lives as at June.
However, the major cause of these accidents has been largely blamed on most roads which are in deplorable state.
The Tema Based Youth Advocay group, Citizen Check, had their share of these fatalities in a recent motor accident which occurred on the Kete Karachi road, which claimed the life of the group’s Chairman, Evans Eluerkeh popularly known as Quallo.
At a one week memorial service in Tema, members of the group called on government to expedite action on rehabilitating deplorable roads in the country.
Vice President of the Group, Lord Rampa is urging government to pay an equal attention to the state of the country’s road, as it is doing with the COVID-19.
He believes if the state of the country’s road were in proper shape, most carnage could have been avoidable.
“Our Dear brother Quallo would have been with us today if not for the state of the road in which he was driving on”, government needs to act now” , he asserted.
Meawnhile, the mortal remains of the late Citizen Check chairman has since been deposited in the Tema General Hospital morgue, while some exectuives including the group’s President, Mudda Alhassan who also sustained degrees of injuries are receiving treatment.
