Ghana Police probes alleged misconduct of officers in viral video

The Ghana Police has begun investigations into an alleged misconduct involving some police officers in the Ashanti region.

A viral video of the police officers in question exposed them exchanging words at a public place.

In a statement, the Police noted that the incident occurred in the morning of 20th July 2022 and investigations commenced that very day.

The Ghana Police said internal disciplinary process is being applied in dealing with the matter.

“We would like to assure the public that the due internal disciplinary process of the Service is being applied in dealing with the matter,” the Police stated.

Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta has appealed to Ghanaians to keep faith with the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and his team.

Although Ghana is facing economic hardships due to the covid-19 pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine, the Finance Minister said the NPP-Government has a plan to move Ghana into a better position.

He gave the assurance while reading the Mid year Budget Statement and Economic Policy on the floor of Parliament on Monday 25th July 2022.

He said the government was even more confident of an imminent breakthrough because it has a track record, a plan, the discipline, the dedication, the competence as well as the compassion for its people and country.

“I serve a President who has shown by his deeds that he is deeply committed to the welfare of the masses of this country. Ours is also a government that is not afraid to make hard choices for the good of our country,” he said.
