Ghanaian singer and youth empowerment advocate George Krown, based in the United Kingdom, has attributed the country’s underdevelopment to the lack of proper systems, structures, and direction.
In a recent conversation with Odi Ahenkan Kwame Yeboah on Peace FM, George Krown emphasized that despite Ghana’s natural resources and nearly seven decades of independence, the country remains underdeveloped due to systemic issues.
According to George Krown, a country’s development is contingent upon the presence of well-established systems and structures.
He cited his experience living in the United Kingdom and visiting various European countries, noting that these nations have developed due to their structured systems, where the law applies equally to all citizens, regardless of their social status or political affiliation.
“…haven lived in the United Kingdom for close to two decades and also visited many European countries including Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, I have realized that, for a country to develop, there must be better systems, structures and direction — A structured system where the law deals with irresponsible citizens irrespective of one’s political or class in the society” he said.
George Krown highlighted several challenges in Ghana, including indiscipline, higher rate of unemployment, tax evasion, over politicization of pertinent national issues, nepotism and the misuse of religion to intimidate others.
