Gov't enforces "no mask, no entry" policy in offices, others

The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has ordered the placement of “no mask, no entry” notices at vantage points in Accra.
This development forms part of REGSEC’s efforts to ensure compliance with the President’s directive on social distancing and wearing of facemasks in Accra.
REGSEC in an emergency meeting on Wednesday 22nd April, agreed, with immediate effect, the mandatory wearing of facemasks by the general public in Accra.
REGSEC has also directed that notices of “No facemasks, no entry” should be visibly displayed at vantage points including offices, lorry stations, shops, markets, malls, banks, pharmacies among others.
As part of the directives, commercial drivers have also been advised to ensure that all passengers wear face masks before allowing them entry into their vehicles.
A temporary ban has also been placed on the observation of “special market days” in Accra.
REGSEC has also announced the installation and use of Public Address System by MMDAs in markets to educate traders on the mandatory usage of facemasks as the social and physical distancing directives.
