GRA, Atinka Media Village intensify Community Tax Compliance campaign

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has intensified its community tax compliance Education geared towards educating the general public on the Tax Identification Number (TIN) policy as well as the need to pay taxes.

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in partnership with Atinka Media Village and Citizen Media Network has started its Voluntary Tax Education campaign.

The campaign is aimed at educating the general public on the need to pay taxes voluntarily following the introduction of Tax Identification Number (TIN)

The GRA has introduced Tax Identification Number (TIN), which makes it impossible for anyone to clear goods at the port, register land at the Lands Commission; obtain a tax clearance certificate from the GRA or even open a bank account without the TIN registration.

The campaign team last Wednesday stormed Abbosey Okai to educate traders and spare parts dealers on the need to acquire a tax identification number and other tax related issues.

Hundreds of spare parts dealers took the opportunity to register for their TIN numbers.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Public Affairs Director at the Ghana Revenue Authority, Mr. Kwasi Bobie Ansah, explained that the exercise has been intensified and the team will continue to visit other places to continue with the education.

Mr. Kwasi Bobie Ansah stated that the campaign promises to be fulfilling looking at the questions people had already piled up waiting for the campaign team last Wednesday.

He added that GRA and the Community Tax compliance Education team will on Wednesday 2nd May 2018, storm the Abbosey Okai for part 2 of the tax education.
