Second lady, Samira Bawumia, has stressed on the need to adequately resource and motivate health workers to give off their best as the country works towards achieving Universal Health Coverage.
Mrs. Bawumia made the comment when delivering the keynote address at the opening of the 2018 National Nurses and Midwives Managers and Leaders Conference in Accra
“I stressed on the need for our health workers to be adequately resourced and motivated to give off their best, especially, as we work towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC),” Mrs Bawumia said.
The second lady also took the opportunity to launch the Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan and Services Framework (2019-2023)
“It is refreshing to know that, collectively, nurses and midwives have a blueprint to guide the discharge of their professional duties, as frontline caregivers, to the Ghanaian people,” she added.
