“I am back to perform my duties”- Adwoa Safo

Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has assured her constituents and the general public that she is back to perform her Parliamentary duties.

Adwoa Safo has been absent from Parliament for some time, with some Members of Parliament asking the Privileges Committee to finalize the report recommending her removal.

The Privileges Committee recommended that Sarah Adwoa Safo’s seat is declared vacant for failing to provide an explanation for her absence.

Delivering the much-anticipated ruling on Wednesday 26th October 2022, the Speaker noted that the report of the Committee must be placed before the whole House for a decision to be made.

“It is for the House that will go through it because the mandate given to an MP, representation is so crucial that it cannot be left to the subjective view of any person or group of people but the whole house,” Speaker Bagbin said on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday 26th October 2022.

In a latest development, Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, who was spotted in Parliament today, told pressmen that she feels happy to be back home.

“It feels good to be back.” “The reception has been great,” the embattled legislator said on Friday, November 12. “I’m back as a Member of Parliament to continue my duties, and so today is the first day, and I am hoping that the subsequent weeks are going to be good,” Adwoa Sarfo told pressmen.
