” I didn’t lose because of John Mahama Tag” – Dzifa Ativor

Former Transport Minister, Madam Aku Dzifa Ativor, who failed in her bid to lead the National Democratic Congress(NDC) as the Volta Regional Chairperson has disputed claims that she lost the election because she had been tagged as a “John Mahama” woman.

The NDC held its regional elections on Saturday 1st September 2018 across the various regions in Ghana

Dzifa Ativor who had been tipped to overthrow the incumbent chairman, John Kwadjo Gyapong ,surprisingly  lost the election.

In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, the  Former Transport Minister, stated that although she was in the lead as at the time the delegates started voting, she is yet to investigate the reasons for her loss.

She explained that she belongs to the NDC Party and not John Mahama and is therefore ready to give the elected Executives the  needed support .

“some of us were only fortunate to work under the John Mahama administration, it was only an opportunity. That does not mean that I belong to the John Mahama or any other camp,i became an appointee under the mahama administration because of my Volta heritage . “she said .

According to Madam Dzifa, all contestants cannot win elections. She noted losing is part of the whole package.

She however assured the general public and the NDC that she will work tirelessly with the elected Chairman  John Kwadjo Gyapong to bring the NDC back to power  in 2020.
