Veteran actor, Prince Yawson, popularly known as Waakye says he started acting like a King in Plays but ended up doing comedies in movies.

According to him, “I did not start as a comedian in movies, I started playing the character of a king in movies and on stage but one day I was given the role of a comedian and I did it so well that my director was happy and noticed I could do a lot of ‘fooling.”

He said since then, when every director wanted to cast someone to ‘fool’ in a movie, they called him to do it.

“If I hadn’t done it well and I focused on just money, it wouldn’t have yielded any results,” he said.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie with Co-host, Maame Asor, Waakye said from the beginning when he started with popular Ghanaian Series, ‘Obra’, he was not called Waakye, but Nebu.

He explained that,”From the beginning, I was called Nebu. I was learning to be a pastor, and my Master always called me Nebu and I responded with nezzer until the Waakye name came.”

“If you do your work anyhow, it does not yield results but if you put your whole self into it, you will get a desired result.”
