"It’s very good to serve and be mentored” – Joe Mettle urges youth

Ghanaian multiple award -winning songwriter, singer and performer, Joseph Oscar Nii Armah Mettle known professionally as Joe Mettle has urged the youth to believe in the power of service and mentorship.

The musician in a lively conversation with Roman Fada On Atinka FM recently said one of his topmost secrets that has catapulted him to greatness is serving people and allowing himself to be mentored. According to him, he has been through so many phases of life serving and learning from great minds in the industry.

First ever gospel artiste to win VGMA’s ultimate Artiste Of the year, Joe Mettle says he did not get to the higher heights on a silver platter but out of God’s blessings, Favor, service and mentorship from many people both in and outside the music industry

The “ Bo no ni” singer before establishing himself as Joe Mettle- one of the most outstanding brands across Africa, he served as a background (backing) vocalist and was mentored by many well established musicians including Sindy Thompson, Danny Nervy, Rev. Tom Bright Davies, Soul winners -an award winning gospel musician group in Ghana.

Joe Mettle was the lead singer for the indigenous multicultural music group, he recorded many songs and played uncountable shows with them before exiting to establish himself as a solo artiste which now he has become one of the topmost gospel musicians in Africa and also one of the few Ghanaian gospel music performers with highest recognition internationally.

Joe has also won over 10 local and international awards. He has won several awards at Africa Gospel Music Awards, Gospel industry Awards, African Gospel Awards (UK), CCML Ghana Gospel Awards, Bass Awards and RIGA Awards (South Africa).

He has five solid albums to his credit. These are “My Gratitude” (2011), “Sound of Praise” (2013),”The Encounter” (2015),”God of Miracles” (2017) and “Wind Of Revival” (2019). He also has other nationwide hit songs outside the five body of work.

Joe Mettle therefore advised the youth who are thirsty for greatness to start devoting themselves to serve and also allow themselves to be mentored by some of the people they look up to.
