Kofi Adams: Mahama’s infrastructure far better than NPP’s social intervention policies

National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has said infrastructural development is more important than social intervention programmes implemented by the ruling  New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

Speaking on  Atinka AM Drive Monday, Mr. Adams said the NDC prefers extension of electricity and potable water to all communities, construction of roads, construction of hospitals, building of schools to NPP’s NACOB, nursing and teacher trainee allowance, NHIS, Capitation Grant, Free SHS amongst others.

Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the 2018 Joint Annual Dinner and Dance of the United Kingdom branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Young Executives Forum (YEF) on Saturday, said “…so we have done tangible things to reduce the hardships on Ghanaians. We can point to them. Today the NDC is going around saying that there are hardships. So what we want to ask them, and I want to challenge them, a simple challenge: tell us what you have done in your last 8 years of government. Tell us the social interventions you brought in to reduce the hardships of Ghanaians.”

However, Kofi Adams in a response said Dr. Bawumia is confused “about the understanding of social intervention because Many schools especially basic schools still don’t have classrooms, so they need to rethink the way social intervention is managed.”

He said road infrastructure, hospitals,  schools, etc should be treated as social interventions initiatives since they complement other interventions like NHIS, NACOB  etc.
