Korle Bu to partner Ga Mantse for 24-hour pharmacy project

The Chief Executive Officer for Korle Bu teaching hospital, Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, has hinted a 24-hour pharmacy project to support the hospital’s pharmacy services.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Atinka News’ Vivian Adu, Dr. Ampomah said the 24-hour pharmacy complex, which will have an ATM farm, retail space, restaurant, supermarket and a rooftop for relaxation.

He said the pharmacy will have a section to attend to the drug needs of patients with insurance.

“Every household in Ghana has benefitted from the services of Korle Bu, either being born here, worked here, trained here or cared for here. In fact, when things become challenging, patients are referred here therefore there is the need for these initiatives to ensure that we position Korle Bu to provide top-notch care,” the CEO noted

The Chief Executive extended his appreciation to some corporate organisations and the suppliers who had supported various projects and urged others to do same, especially as Korle Bu marks its centenary.

The project forms part of the Korle-Bu at 100 yearlong celebration under the theme: “Hundred years of leadership in quality healthcare delivery, through training, research, innovation, and partnerships. 100 years of memories, 100 years of saving lives, 100 years of groundbreaking interventions, 100 years of innovation, and the depth of training quality personnel.”
