Kotoka International Airport to welcome flights today

The Kotoka International Airport (KIA) will today, September 1, 2020 welcome flights from other countries.

This comes after the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced the opening of the airport to international flights from today after closing it for about five months due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Reports reaching Atinkaonline.com is that one passenger who was supposed to travel to Canada from Ghana had to stay back because as at the time he reported at the Airport, there were no other passengers going to Canada and therefore his flight was cancelled.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that the first international flight will land at the KIA by 2p.m.

The airport has been disinfected and ready to welcome the passengers.

All travelers who intend to come to Ghana after the opening of the KIA would have to pay $150 or equivalent of GHS 865 for covid-19 instant test.

The test, according to government will last for about 30 minutes and therefore passengers will receive the results before they will be allowed to enter the country.
