Kwei Opletu We Royal Gate of Prampram dismisses Family Head

Kwei Opletu

Kingmakers of the Kwei Opletu We Royal Family, one of the three gates of the Prampram Traditional Area, have unanimously agreed to remove the head of family, Justice David Abbey, effective 1st September, 2021.

A statement signed by Helius Annor Opletu, Daniel Annertey Abbey and Numo Osabu Abbey IV (Paramount Stool Father), explained that Justice Abbey was dismissed as head of family for exhibiting gross incompetence and continuously being the source of disunity in the family ever since he was appointed four years ago.

The statement said the demotion of Justice David Abbey who is alleged to have enstooled one Quarcoopome Parker as King of Prampram without the approval and notice of kingmakers and that of the Paramount Stool Father was also necessitated by recent disturbances surrounding the Prampram Paramountcy of which he has been identified as the main mastermind.

The statement further said that unlike his predecessors who brought peace and unity among the Kwei Opletu We Royal gate, Justice Abbey since his appointment some four years ago, has demonstrated the opposite, conniving with self-seeking individuals to stoke war in Prampram and also destroy the existing peace in the Prampram Traditional Area.

The statement further claimed that Justice Abbey after his appointment, failed to accord his kingmakers the needed respect, and also failed to attend any of the family meetings, rather joining forces with his cohorts to tarnish the reputation of the Kwei Opletu We Royal gate.

The statement also announced the appointment of one Daniel Annertey Abbey effective 1st of September as the duly appointed Head of Family for the Kwei Opletu We, pending his official swearing in  by the Paramount Stool Father Numo Osabu Abbey IV in the coming days.
