The Young man who was arrested by the Ghana Police Intelligence Directorate for brandishing weapon with threats on Social Media will be sent to court today, Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

According to a police report, on Monday, November 22, 2021, the Police Intelligence Directorate arrested suspect, Nii Ponponsuo, after seeing a viral video in which the suspect was captured loading a pump-action gun with cartridges and making threatening utterances.

The Police after reviewing the video conducted a special exercise that led to the suspect’s arrest from his hideout.

According to the police, a search conducted led to the retrieval of one 12 bore SB pump-action gun.

Currently, the police stated that the suspect is assisting the police investigation and will be put before today.

“The Police Administration would like to continue to caution the general public, especially, individuals who have a penchant for the display of weapons and issuing threats to desist from such unlawful acts. Anyone arrested will be dealt with according to law,” the police added.

In other news: Ejura: Police arrest 5 robbers including 14-yr-old boy

The Police in Ejura on November 16, 2021, arrested four robbery suspects and a juvenile who carry out robbery activities on highways linking Nkoranza and Techiman in the Bono East Region and the Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal area of the Ashanti Region.

According to the police, the four suspects, Ajara Sagu, Rashid Ibrahim, Ibrahim Iddrisu, Musah Arijuma together with a 14-year-old juvenile were arrested at Ejura after extensive Police surveillance on their activities.

It stated that on the spot search on the suspects and juvenile led to the recovery of ten assorted mobile phones, one Infinix charger and a lady’s handbag.

Other items suspected to have been robbed from commuters and retneved from them included one unregistered Apsonic Aloba motorbike and an amount of Two Thousand, Two Hundred and Seventy-Nine Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 2,279.00).
