The Cape Coast District Court 2 has adjourned the case of trainee nurse Georgina Asor Botchway, who was murdered by one Tufuhene, Christopher Ekow Clark Quansah, and his accomplices, Michael Darko and Jonathan Obeng.

Presided over by Her Worship Bernice Mensima Ackon, the case that has been adjourned for the fourth time will be recalled on November 22, 2022.

The adjournment of the trial comes at the backlash of complaints about the Police Service’s inability to raise funds to fuel its vehicle to transport the culprits to reappear before the court, as noted by prosecutor Daniel Gadzo.

The family linguist, Papa Annan Swanzy, thanked the media after the court proceedings for its unflinching support and consistency in reporting on the matter as he communicated what actually transpired.

Speaking in an interview with Atinka News’ Agyei Kwaku Mensah, the aunty of the deceased, Madam Kate Swanzy (They Go), expressed the family’s frustration towards the delay surrounding the trial.

She charged the Nana-Addo-led government to step into the matter to make sure proceedings regarding the prosecution of these arrested culprits are swiftly attended.

22-year-old nurse trainee, Ms. Georgina Asor Botchwey, was allegedly killed and buried inside a traditional leader’s kitchen at Mankessim by Michael Darko and Nana Clark Onyaa.

The victim was allegedly kidnapped by the pastor after she had gone for an interview at the Ankaful Nursing Training College.

In September this year, Mother of the deceased, Maame Akua Anowa, told host of Atinka FM’s AM drive that that her daughter left Yeji in the Bono East Region in Ghana for the Ankaful Nursing Training in the Central Region in pursuit of a nursing education.

She confirmed that Nana Onyaa and the pastor, who doubles as the boyfriend of the murdered student’s sister, first kidnapped the victim, raped her and demanded GHS15,000 as ransom from her family.

A statement from the police said the chief and the pastor killed the lady and buried her in the chief’s kitchen after the family failed to pay the amount.
